Ciao a tutti,

durante i lab che sto svolgendo, mi sono accorto con il comando show spanning-tree vlan vlan-id detail, la presenza di un timer che sarebbe il message age.

Potrei gentilmente avere un chiarimento su come e su cosa si differenzia dal max-age?
Consapevole del fatto che il Max-Age è un timer che lo switch utilizza prima di poter elaborare la BPDU (default 20 secondi).

Ciao Luca,
in realtà il max-age è un timer legato al tempo di vita massimo (scadenza) di una BPDU, ed è un timer il cui countdown viene azzerato dal ricevimento di una nuova BPDU (emessa dal root bridge ad intervalli stabiliti dal parametro hello time).

Il message-age invece indica di fatto il tempo trascorso dall'emissione originale di una BPDU, e viene incrementato di 1 secondo ad ogni inoltro degli switch (come dire che indica anche la "lontananza" di uno switch che riceva tale BPDU dal root bridge).
